(CNN) - Daniel Radcliffe, the star of the "Harry Potter" franchise, on Monday responded to franchise creator J.K. Rowling's controversial tweets about gender identity, directly addressing fans who may have felt pain reading the author's comments, which some labeled as transphobic.

Rowling, who has often come under fire by the large Potter fandom for her social media posts, sparked backlash over the weekend after mocking a headline about "people who menstruate."

"'People who menstruate.' I'm sure there used to be a word for those people," she tweeted on Saturday. "Someone help me out. Wumben? Wimpund? Woomud?"

"Hi @jk_rowling, using non-gendered language is about moving beyond the idea that woman = uterus," Clue, a period-tracking app, replied. "Feminists were once mocked for wanting to change sexist language, but it's now common to say firefighter instead of fireman."

Trevi Moran has come out as a transgender woman.

In a candid video titled "Coming Out. I Am Female," the YouTube star and former X Factor contestant declared that she is a transgender female and explained that this decision has been a long time coming.

"Hi. My name is Trevi Moran. I am a transgender female," she began the emotional vlog. "It's a good start. I can't believe I just said that out loud. I've dealt with this feeling my entire life, and I know that I'm a woman deep down inside. It's just a feeling you know."

As she continued, Moran, who first came out as gay in 2015, shared that her journey towards coming out as transgender has been rocky, starting when she began questioning identifying as a cisgender male nearly three years ago.

Leaving her followers with some uplifting words, she concluded, "If you're ever lost, just don't go out, go in. Go in and find yourself because going out and distracting yourself defeats the purpose."
I think every trans person who has transitioned knows that, we have to find ourselves first before we can show the world our real selves.
