Sam’s Saturday 9: Waiting All Day for Sunday Night (2012)
On Saturdays I take a break from the heavy stuff and have some fun…
Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.
1) This week's Saturday 9 has a football theme because there's a big game Sunday. Will you be watching?
I’m having a Super Bowl party at my house, but that doesn’t necessary mean I will be watching it.
2) The Super Bowl is a big day for food consumption in the US, second only to Thanksgiving. What's on your menu this weekend?
I am providing hot dogs cooked in my wood stove (with the door open) and also Philly Cheese Steaks
3) The NFL has decreed that the Super Bowl will never be played in a city that has a median February temperature of less than 50º. Would your hometown qualify for the Big Game?
Nope… I think that is discrimination. There is big money to be made by hosting the Super Bowl and they are denying cities with teams like Green Bay and Boston.
4) This version of the NFL theme song mentions the Steelers and the Broncos. During the regular season, which team do you root for? How did they do in 2019?
I don’t root for any teams.
5) This version of the Sunday Night Football song is by Faith Hill. She also has ties to the MLB, since her husband is Tim McGraw, son of the Mets' pitcher Tug McGraw. Which sport do you prefer -- baseball or football?
Neither.
6) Faith has performed live at more than one The Super Bowl in the past, performing both "America, the Beautiful" and "The Star Spangled Banner." What's your favorite patriotic song?
I’m a traditionalist… "The Star Spangled Banner."
7) She has a perfume line with Coty that was a big seller at CVS during Christmas 2018. What's the last item you bought at a drugstore?
My meds.
That is about the only thing that I buy at drugstores.
8) Faith Hill is the producer of a talk show on CMT called Pickler and Ben. Is the TV on as you answer these questions? If so, what are you watching?
Yes, CBS Evening News
9) Random question: You've got a chip in your hand and three dips to choose from -- guacamole, salsa, and onion. Where does your chip get dipped?
Salsa.
Guacamole… yuck! I don't like the texture of guacamole.
Thanks so much for joining us again at Saturday: 9. As always, feel free to come back, see who has participated and comment on their posts. In fact sometimes, if you want to read & comment on everyone's responses, you might want to check back again tomorrow. But it is not a rule. We haven’t any rules here. Join us on next Saturday for another version of Saturday: 9, "Just A Silly Meme on a Saturday!" Enjoy your weekend!

I'm not a big guacamole fan either.
ReplyDeleteI don't know that I've ever had a hotdog cooked that way. Sounds good!
ReplyDeleteHave a great time at your party! I am not a fan of guacamole either.
ReplyDeleteI agree with discrimination. Kansas City cannot have one either because of temperatures and no dome or retractable roof. Loved your answers! Have a nice weekend.

It's awesome that you're going to cook over the fire! I love the idea of it and the festive air it will add to the party. I like guac, if it's homemade. But I'm fussy about the chips.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to host and pay attention to the game. Hotdogs over the fire sound pretty good to me right now. I agree about discriminating against teams in cold climates. I think my Steelers should get to host just because they've got more Super Bowl rings than anyone else. ;)
ReplyDeleteWe are making it simple this year and getting things from the market deli. I will take crafts to do while the game is going on and stop for the commercials. The hot dogs sound good!
