Are People Saying Enough Is Enough!

It seems like that I am seeing more editorials, opinion articles, and just articles coming out in support of us and not just in trans friendly media but also in the mainstream media.

Should transgender youths have access to gender-affirming care? Why bans are 'cruel' and 'dangerous'
USA Today

“I just don’t understand why they are so mean.”

Those were the words Lizette Trujillo heard from her son Daniel, who came home from school one day when he was 8, unsettled that a young classmate was being bullied.

Trujillo seized on the chance for a life lesson on empathy versus sympathy.

But Daniel, who is transgender, responded like a wise soul: “Mom, I think God made me this way on purpose: So I can be empathetic and teach empathy.”

Seven years later, Trujillo still carries that moment close at a time of raging noise from conservative corners over rights of transgender and non-binary youths – even for something as basic as health care.

“What we are missing in this world,” Trujillo said, “is empathy.”

What an amazing 8 year old!

I think the same, that God put me here to test people to see if people are following the word of Jesus of love and acceptance.

“So many stories are being told around” gender-affirming health care, she said. ”What’s not being told is why this is up for debate at this large scale.”

[…]

“Should trans kids be able to have care or not have care? Most people in the U.S. don’t care about this conversation,” Grosshandler said. “So why in the world is this conversation even happening?”

Lawmakers are using their political power to “whip up nonsense about families raising good, solid kids,” she said. “It’s not a debate. How do you debate the lives of kids who are happy, doing well in school, volunteering in their community, learning multiple musical instruments, going to college and building amazing lives?”

EXACTLY!

They are doing it to rally their base but as last Tuesday vote showed, the voters want answers and not rhetoric.

Opinion: Stop obsessing over where trans kids use the bathroom
CNN
By Gavin Grimm
November 13, 2022

Editor’s Note: Gavin Grimm is a transgender activist. The views expressed in this commentary are his own. Read more opinion at CNN.

It is the middle of the academic year in a small town in Virginia. Dozens of speakers have gathered at a school board meeting for their chance to comment on the board’s most burning issue: Where should Gavin Grimm, a transgender boy, use the bathroom?

[…]

There is no evidence to suggest giving transgender Americans access to the spaces we deserve puts other people at risk. In fact, transgender people are one of the most at risk groups – and are a frequent target of deadly violence. Transgender people over the age of 16 are four times more likely to become the victims of assault than cisgender people. And those attacks are on the rise as Republicans fan the flames of hatred, while Democrats often offer only tepid support.

[…]

It seems as if Gov. Youngkin is willing to reject not only established federal and state law, but also guidance and best practices from leading authorities on the physical and mental health of children and young adults. Youngkin and his administration have couched discriminatory actions in language about protecting children, religious liberty and the rights of parents, but it is my belief that his real agenda is scapegoating a minority already under duress, in a cowardly bid to gain support from his base.

He may succeed in that, but his gains will be temporary. A few weeks ago, thousands of students across Virginia walked out of school to protest Youngkin’s proposed restrictions on trans students. Protests are continuing against this unjust proposed policy. The transgender community is not going away.

During segregation they said that Black children will attack white children if Black were allowed to use White bathrooms. During the 50s and 60s they said if “homosexuals” were to use bathrooms they would attack the young children.

Now it is our turn to be accused of vile things in using a bathroom with children, we are now their boogeyman.

The right-wing conservatives stir up fear against those who are different.

WPATH / USPATH Statement of Opposition to Florida Draft Rule Banning Gender Affirming Care for Adolescents

The World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) and the United States Professional Association for Transgender Health (USPATH) stand in staunch opposition to the unwarranted ban on adolescent gender affirming care approved November 4, 2022, by the Florida Boards of Medicine. Gender affirming care improves quality of life and has been endorsed by major medical associations. The Florida Boards, rather than following the science and consensus-based guidelines established and recently updated by WPATH, have chosen politics over science to deny families and their children vital medical care. Lack of access to gender affirming care adds to a patient's psychosocial stress and is associated with increased suicidality. The proposed ban will result in pain and potential harm for the very constituents it claims to protect. We denounce the proposed draft rule as cruel, counter to medical evidence and discriminatory.
