Taking A Stand

We will not be erased and our allies are covering our backs.

We cannot do it alone we need our allies, we need to encourage them to stand by us, we are only 0.5% of the population we need our allies.

A coalition with some of the most successful businesses in the world are taking a stand against the Trump administration’s reported plans to legally redefine gender, stripping it of any mention of transgender.

Google, Coca-Cola, Apple, Amazon, Pepsi, JPMorgan Chase, Dow Chemical and Uber are among the 56 companies that signed a letter condemning the proposed changes while expressing support for the transgender community.

The letter calls for “transgender equality” in response to a “rising tide of legislative and administrative attempts to further marginalize transgender, gender non-conforming and intersex people.”
The letter reads…
We, the undersigned businesses, stand with the millions of people in America who identify as transgender, gender non-binary, or intersex, and call for all such people to be treated with the respect and dignity everyone deserves.

We oppose any administrative and legislative efforts to erase transgender protections through reinterpretation of existing laws and regulations. We also fundamentally oppose any policy or regulation that violates the privacy rights of those that identify as transgender, gender non-binary, or intersex.
But not all allies are created equal; some just give lip service,

It is hard to separate a company from it CEO. Chick-fil-A Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer S. Truett Cathy has donated to anti-LGBTQ organizations which resulted in boycotts of the fast food company. Chick-fil-A issued a statement…
The Chick-fil-A culture and service tradition in our restaurants is to treat every person with honor, dignity and respect — regardless of their belief, race, creed, sexual orientation or gender. We will continue this tradition in the over 1,600 Restaurants run by independent Owner/Operators. Going forward, our intent is to leave the policy debate over same-sex marriage to the government and political arena.1
Now compare that with Amazon CEO…
HRC Award-Winner Jeff Bezos Donates Over $10,000 to Anti-LGBTQ Politician

A year after the Human Rights Campaign honored him with a National Equality Award, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos has contributed the maximum allowable amount to the campaign of an anti-LGBTQ Republican.

Senator Cory Gardner (R-Color.) isn’t even up for re-election until 2020. But Bezos and his wife, writer MacKenzie Bezos, gave a combined $10,800 to his re-election campaign.

While Gardner certainly isn’t the most outspokenly anti-LGBTQ representative in Congress, he has a long history of opposing equality. In 2006, he voted to prevent same-sex couples from adopting in Colorado. Gardner also tried to impose obstacles to joint financial planning and voted multiple times against expanding nondiscrimination law to cover sexual orientation.

In addition, Gardner has long opposed the freedom to marry for same-sex couples.

HRC’s National Equality Award recognizes “the outstanding efforts of those who publicly stand up for the LGBTQ community, committing their time and energy to improve the lives of LGBTQ people and advance equality for all Americans.”

The organization bestowed the National Equality Award on Bezos in October of 2017 at the 21st Annual HRC Dinner, a lavish fundraiser for the organization. HRC cited Amazon’s longtime support of its queer and trans employees, creating a internal queer resource group in 1999. Meanwhile, Bezos donated $2.5 million for marriage equality in Washington State six years ago.
See the difference between Chick-fil-A and Amazon?

Neither do I.

  1. Neither do I. But lets take it another step. People like Jeff Bezos want our LGBY talent and will do anything to get it, money to marriage equality, LGBT resource group, but meanwhile giving money to someone who would vote along with the other monsters in D.C to deny us and a host of others. Remember Mr. Bezos gave the maximum amount that a person can give to this candidate. A bit like the most wonderful high holy Obama. Signs nice documents gives us some crumbs, (crumbs that are taken away under present administration, but that is a whole other story in this so-called democracy.) but meanwhile President Obama deported more immigrants than any other president in U.S. history. Not my issue some say, well it is to the LGBT folks being deported back to what may be their deaths. “But I can serve in the U.S. Military,” “I can get married,” Look the president holds Pride celebrations, where Trans activist Jennicet Gutierrez is booed by Gays and Lesbians and removed from the room to applause for speaking truth to power.

During the Obama regime according to figures the U.S dropped nearly three bombs every hour, 24 hours a day. But the LGBT community loved him, some even referring to him by his first name. I am not going to love someone who drops bombs, drone attacks and causes murder and mayhem around the world. I can not be happy with “as long as its not me, or as long as it doesn’t affect me.

It was like years ago when some in this state and in many others refused to add the B and T to civil rights legislation, saying we will never get our rights if they are included. We all know the story. Well many of us said, We do not want our rights if all of our people can’t have theirs.

When Jeff Bezos gives money to a person and a party that just may try to erase Trans people and others then he is not our friend and when HRC gives such a person an award for his good works in the LGBT community, forgetting his other works then they are not our friends. Being selfish thinking only of ourselves and not caring as long as we get ahead, the heck with everyone else is wrong on every level. Giving with one hand and taking with the other is just not right. Friends do not give to those who will follow like sheep with the ultimate goal to erase us all. I don’t care how many times HRC comes out with their flags waving I know deep in my heart they are not our friends, nor Jeff Bezos or any republican.
