Case in point the headline about Jennifer Lopez boyfriends which uses a pejorative to describe the trans-persons he was dating. I believe that they knew they shouldn’t use that word but went ahead on purpose to increase their click-throughs.
In the article they use transsexual and transgender but the banner headline in bold letters uses the pejorative. It had to be a conscious decision to use that word, they would never use the N-word to describe a black person, but they thought they could get away with the word they used to describe us because we couldn’t fight back. They believe we are too few and too marginalized to fight back so they think they can do anything they want with impunity.
