Ministers rejected the advice of Ministry of Health officials when they decided to implement a ban on new puberty blocker prescriptions to treat gender dysphoria, newly released documents reveal, findings which prompted the High Court to say the decision appeared to be politically motivated.

Although the ban went into effect on Friday, the High Court on Wednesday issued an order preventing it from being enforced until fuller legal arguments can be held next year. In its decision, it cited health advice which found the status quo was the preferable option and said “the views of Cabinet do not reflect the medical advice set out in the RIS [Regulatory Impact Statement]”.

Late on Thursday, the Ministry of Health released a trove of Cabinet papers, official briefings and the crucial regulatory vet, in which health officials effectively said there were no good options but the status quo was the least bad one.

In advice underpinning the Cabinet paper, officials made clear the status quo or enhanced monitoring were preferred.

“There is no option that we can definitively say advances our objectives. Having regard to this,
the Ministry of Health considers Option One (Status quo/Counterfactual: baseline of close
ministry monitoring and adjustment as needed) (Options A and B in the Cabinet paper) is the
best fit overall,” they wrote.
So once again, the data shows that puberty blockers work and do no harm,,, but the politicians have an agenda. Just like here in the States, we wait on the courts for our rights to healthcare.

It Was Bad Before, But...

Now it is a quagmire, a bottom swamp.

People were calling for the release of the Epstein File and Congress passed a law release them by the 19th!

But as usual Trump & Company ignores the laws... trying to wiggle out of the release! Oh we are going to drag them out for weeks! Um... the law said all! Not dribbling them out!
Khanna and Massie's remarks came after Sen. Tim Kaine said that Congress has other mechanisms to force the release of additional Epstein files.

Reps. Ro Khanna, D-Calif., and Thomas Massie, R-Ky., on Sunday said they are committed to holding Justice Department officials accountable for their failure to release all eligible Epstein files by Friday’s deadline, saying they're speaking with members of Congress about holding Attorney General Pam Bondi in contempt.

"The quickest way, and I think most expeditious way, to get justice for these victims, is to bring inherent contempt against Pam Bondi," Massie told CBS' "Face the Nation" on Sunday when asked about how Congress can force the Justice Department to release the rest of the files they have related to Jeffrey Epstein.
To say that many in Congress are pissed is an understatement!
On Friday, the department released thousands of files, but not all the documents Khanna and Massie expected, leading to widespread condemnation of the Justice Department on both sides of the aisle.

Khanna told CNN on Friday that, “Congress is talking about possible impeachment. They’re talking about inherent contempt for the attorney general or deputy attorney general."

The California congressman added, “Any Justice Department official who has obstructed justice could face prosecution in this administration or a future administration."
But it goes even deeper then not releasing all of the files.
A lot of information that would help the public understand the case is still under wraps.

The Justice Department’s long-awaited release Friday of documents related to the federal government’s investigation into Jeffrey Epstein was perhaps most notable for what it lacked.

Financial records, internal memos from prosecutors who investigated Epstein’s alleged sex-trafficking ring, key material obtained from the searches of Epstein’s palatial homes — none of it figured prominently in the documents released Friday.

Interested in records that would help explain how Epstein grew so wealthy? None to be found.

Want to read emails from federal prosecutors deciding who to charge — and, equally importantly, who not to charge — during their 2019 investigation? You’re out of luck.

The department was obligated by law to release the entire universe of documents related to Epstein, the late convicted sex offender, and Maxwell, who was convicted of aiding and participating in his sex-trafficking ring, by Friday. The tranche made public represented only a fraction of the total material, which the government has said exceeds 300 gigabytes worth of data and physical evidence.
Some estimate are that only ten percent of the files were released! And even more disturbing are the missing photos!

At least 16 files disappeared from the Justice Department’s public webpage for documents related to Jeffrey Epstein — including a photograph showing President Donald Trump — less than a day after they were posted, with no explanation from the government and no notice to the public.

The missing files, which were available Friday and no longer accessible by Saturday, included images of paintings depicting nude women, and one showing a series of photographs along a credenza and in drawers. In that image, inside a drawer among other photos, was a photograph of Trump, alongside Epstein, Melania Trump and Epstein’s longtime associate Ghislaine Maxwell.

The Justice Department didn’t answer questions Saturday about why the files disappeared but said in a post on X that “photos and other materials will continue being reviewed and redacted consistent with the law in an abundance of caution as we receive additional information.”
Trump & Company has really pissed off both sides of Congress buy not releasing all of the files and photos. I don't think that they could have bungled it even more then they did.

They made the Department of Justice a Trump stooge proving that they are no longer an independent and separate from the White House.
Despite a Friday deadline set by Congress to make everything public, the Justice Department said it plans to release records on a rolling basis. It blamed the delay on the time-consuming process of obscuring survivors’ names and other identifying information. The department has not given any notice when more records might arrive.
You want to be that they will drag this out for as long as the can... just dribbled and drabs!


Then we have Trump & Family milking the U.S. for all it is worth!


The Trump business empire’s expansion into nuclear fusion is alarming ethics experts, who warn it poses glaring conflicts of interest and risks the federal government playing favorites in what could be the holy grail of clean energy.

Trump Media & Technology Group (DJT) shocked Wall Street last week by arranging a $6 billion marriage with TAE Technologies, a Google-backed company at the leading edge of fusion energy.

The merger means that soon, President Donald Trump will simultaneously have a major financial interest in a company whose fortunes will be influenced by the actions of a government that Trump himself presides over.

Nuclear fusion companies are regulated by the federal government and will likely need Uncle Sam’s deep research and even deeper pockets to become commercially viable. The merger needs to be approved by federal regulators – some of whom were nominated by Trump.

“There is a clear conflict of interest here,” Richard Painter, the top ethics official under former President George W. Bush, told CNN in a phone interview. “Every other president since the Civil War has divested from business interests that would conflict with official duties. President Trump has done the opposite.”

For instance, he said the secretary of energy would have to recuse him or herself from any matter linked to fusion if they simultaneously had a significant stake in a fusion company.

“It’s only legal because the criminal conflict of interest statute does not apply to the president,” Painter said, adding that while it is “technically legal” he doesn’t believe presidents should be excluded from the law.
Of course Congress is not going to do a darn thing! They are afraid of the wrath of Trump.
Rep. Don Beyer, a Democrat from Virginia who co-chairs the House Fusion Energy Caucus, told CNN in a phone interview that he was “stunned” by the Trump Media deal.

“I hate the thought of a president who puts his name on the Kennedy Center putting his foot on the scale of who the winners and losers are in fusion energy,” Beyer said.

Beyer said he has been “encouraged” by the Energy Department’s support for fusion energy and is pleased to have a president supportive of the industry.
The Trumps and the cronies all have a piece of the pie while the American people get the shaft.

The White House continued its cultural crackdown on the Smithsonian this week, pressuring the institution to review its exhibits and operations and align them with President Donald Trump's view of American history.

On Tuesday, Aug. 12, The Wall Street Journal reported on a letter that was sent by three top White House officials to Smithsonian secretary Lonnie Bunch. According to the outlet, the letter followed up on the directive laid out in Trump's March 27 executive order, titled “Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History," which targeted the Smithsonian museums by name.

The executive order read, in part, "Once widely respected as a symbol of American excellence and a global icon of cultural achievement, the Smithsonian Institution has, in recent years, come under the influence of a divisive, race-centered ideology. This shift has promoted narratives that portray American and Western values as inherently harmful and oppressive."
So now Trump is getting antsy so he is tightening on the screws, threatening to cut funding! The Smithsonian is having none of that;
The Smithsonian was diplomatic in its reply to the White House letter, saying, “The Smithsonian’s work is grounded in a deep commitment to scholarly excellence, rigorous research, and the accurate, factual presentation of history. We are reviewing the letter with this commitment in mind and will continue to collaborate constructively with the White House, Congress, and our governing Board of Regents.”

However, The Wall Street Journal spoke with historians who fear that the president's vendetta against so-called "diversity, equity and inclusion" initiatives may have a negative impact on the Smithsonian's ability to give a comprehensive look at U.S. history.

“The Smithsonian museums have never reflected one person’s view, or even one administration’s view,” Harvard history professor Tiya Miles told the outlet. “They have reflected the composite research, analysis, discussion, findings of many different people, scholars and researchers.”
It doesn't take much of an imagination to guess what is coming:

  3. Courts find in favor of the Smithsonian,
  4. Case goes tot he Supreme Court,
  5. Supreme Court finds in favor of the Smithsonian.

First He Rounded Them Up!

Back in the summer Trump had the homeless rounded up and dispersed by the National Guard, 


Local law enforcement, at President Donald Trump’s directive, cleared four unhoused encampment sites near Washington Circle and L Street late Friday morning after federal officers failed to sweep the sites Thursday night.

The sweeps, conducted by Metropolitan Police Department and Department of Public Works officers, cleared at least seven tents and evicted at least four unhoused individuals from encampments at 22nd and K streets, Washington Circle and K street and 26th and L streets. The clearings come after two separate groups of federal agents arrived to evict residents near Washington Circle Thursday night — three days after Trump federalized the MPD and deployed 800 National Guard troops and other federal agents throughout the city, in part to clear unhoused encampments — but left after a resident showed the agents a sticker from the Office of the Deputy Mayor of Health and Human Service indicating she had until Monday to leave.

Shortly after, a garbage truck and about eight MPD officers began clearing another encampment at 26th and L streets. At 11:33 a.m., about twenty MPD vehicles and the garbage trucks from the operations lined the 2600 block of Pennsylvania Avenue before headings toward Georgetown.

Judge blocks homelessness changes, rebukes agency

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development cannot impose dramatically different conditions for homelessness programs for now, according to an oral ruling Friday by U.S. District Judge Mary McElroy in Rhode Island.
Why it matters: McElroy granted a preliminary injunction to a group of states, cities and nonprofits who said a last minute overhaul of how to spend $4 billion on homelessness programs was unlawful. She also agreed with their argument that it likely would push many people back onto the streets in the middle of winter, causing irreparable harm.

The backstory: HUD has sought to dramatically slash funding for permanent housing and encourage more transitional housing that mandates work and treatment for addiction or mental illness. The overhaul – announced last month — also would allow the agency to deny money to local groups that don't comply with the Trump administration's agenda on things like DEI, the restriction of transgender rights and immigration enforcement.
So Trump has them rounded up, all their belongings were taken, many individuals lost their tents, winter clothing, and even lifesaving medications when their property was cleared by sanitation crews and law enforcement. NPR wrote,
McElroy granted a preliminary injunction to a group of states, cities and nonprofits who said a last minute overhaul of how to spend $4 billion on homelessness programs was unlawful. She also agreed with their argument that it likely would push many people back onto the streets in the middle of winter, causing irreparable harm.

"Continuity of housing and stability for vulnerable populations is clearly in the public interest," said McElroy, ordering HUD to maintain its previous funding formula.

The National Alliance to End Homelessness, one of the plaintiffs, said in a statement the order "means that more than 170,000 people – families, seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities – have respite from the government's assault."

President Trump’s proposed budget takes a bold, controversial turn—cutting rental aid by 40% and shifting program authority from the federal government to the states.

This seismic shift in how housing aid is distributed could reshape the way America supports its most vulnerable citizens. It also raises the question: What happens when the federal government stops guaranteeing rental support and leaves states to “fill the gap if they want”?

Trump’s 2025 HUD Budget: What’s Being Proposed?
The 2025 proposal doesn’t mince words. The White House has called the current rental assistance system “dysfunctional,” and proposes the following:
  • A 40% reduction in Section 8 and housing voucher funding
  • Replacement of federal oversight with state-controlled block grants
  • A two-year eligibility cap on able-bodied adults receiving aid
  • A 12% cut in funding for homelessness programs
  • The elimination of community development grants used for housing and neighborhood revitalization.
While framed as an effort to promote efficiency and local autonomy, the reality is more complex. This isn’t just a policy shift—it’s a gamble that assumes states will step in to carry a burden that has, for decades, rested on federal shoulders.
Okay... Trump rounds up the homeless, seizing their belongings, cuts funding to Section 8 housing,
Here’s what we’re really risking:
  • Accelerated Housing Displacement: Without vouchers to stabilize monthly rent, families will face an immediate risk of losing their homes. This isn’t just a coastal problem. Rent burdens in the Midwest and South are rising just as fast—and the safety net is thinning everywhere.
  • Breakdown of Local Rental Markets: Many landlords, especially small-property owners, rely on timely voucher payments to keep their properties afloat. Removing that guaranteed income undermines the rental ecosystem, potentially pulling hundreds of affordable units off the market entirely.
  • Increased Burden on Public Systems: When Section 8 fails, the burden shifts elsewhere—emergency shelters, overstretched school systems, hospital ERs, and child welfare departments. These aren’t just budget line items—they're life-saving services that were never designed to substitute for long-term housing solutions.
  • Disruption of Workforce Stability: Workers without stable housing are less reliable, less productive, and more likely to cycle in and out of employment. Cutting Section 8 not only destabilizes lives but also weakens local economies dependent on a consistent labor force.
  • Fracturing of Generational Progress: Housing is foundational to everything else—education, employment, health, and mobility. When families lose that foundation, the long-term impact stretches far beyond temporary displacement. We’re not just erasing progress—we're obstructing the path forward.
Even within the administration, there is a concerted effort to reframe the conversation. HUD Secretary Scott Turner described the budget as “bold,” stating that rental programs have become “too bloated and bureaucratic to efficiently function.” He emphasized that the agency’s goal is to promote self-sufficiency over subsidy dependency. But critics argue this position ignores structural issues like wage stagnation and the chronic shortfall in affordable housing development.

This isn’t a partisan debate. It’s a practical one. The numbers don’t lie: cutting Section 8 without structural alternatives will displace, disrupt, and destabilize communities. And unlike other federal programs, there’s no easy or immediate replacement when housing security vanishes. We need to stop framing these cuts as an efficiency measure—and start acknowledging them for what they are: a wholesale retreat from one of our country’s most critical responsibilities.
What is Trump's next step? Turning the program to the states? Housing concentration camps? Where is he heading?

Pentatonix

I was watching CBS Sunday Morning and they had a segment on Pentatonix, but that is not what I want to write about this afternoon but rather it is about one of the groups members, Grassi.
At their high school in Arlington, Texas, they formed a trio: a soprano, a baritone, and a countertenor. Grassi said of his voice, "It is incredibly high, and it got made fun of a lot while I was growing up. Yeah, growing up in Texas, you know, it was very different and it's a little feminine, so it was like, 'Get him outta here.'"
The hairs on the back of my neck stood up over that.

Not content with completing his takeover of the Kennedy Center by slapping his own name on the building, President Donald Trump has revealed the next phase of his current redesign obsession.

The 79-year-old president hinted on Truth Social that the ’60s modernist building in Washington, D.C., would be getting the Mar-a-Lago special with a gold and marble interior refit, starting, of course, with the theater’s armrests.

“Potential Marble armrests for the seating at The Trump Kennedy Center. Unlike anything ever done or seen before!” Trump announced on Friday evening.
Do you believe this, this... sh*t!
Accompanying images show the hard-stone armrest examples that Trump apparently wants to install in the chairs of the center’s three main theaters.

It’s just the latest round in the president’s ongoing commandeering of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, a “living memorial” to the 35th president, who was assassinated in 1963.
Everything Trump touches turns to sh*t. Maybe it is because his grandfather ran a whorehouse that he wants everything to look like one!

In December alone, Donald Trump has lent his name to a new class of warship that the United States will build in the coming years, to the U.S. Institute of Peace, and to Washington’s grand performing arts and music center, the renowned Kennedy Center. As of last week, it is officially called The Donald J. Trump and the John F. Kennedy Memorial Center.

Even before that, the president promised to erect a triumphal arch on the National Mall, and began demolishing the East Wing to make way for a new ballroom whose gigantic dimensions will dwarf those of the White House. When it’s finished, it will be called — you guessed it — The Donald J. Trump Ballroom.

There’s also Trump Rx, a website where the government aims to offer prescription drugs at discount prices; the Trump Accounts, an investment account for children that is paid out to the recipient upon turning 18; and the Trump Gold and Platinum Cards. These offer a shortcut for individuals and companies in a hurry to obtain U.S. residency and can afford to spend amounts starting at one million dollars, described as donations to the Department of Commerce.
Trump is a "Megalomaniac"!
Russell Riley, co-director of the Presidential Oral History Program at the University of Virginia’s Miller Center, confirmed in an email that there is no precedent for Trump’s vanity. “These kinds of honors have always been bestowed after leaving office. Culturally, it was considered inappropriate in the United States for a president to honor himself in this way; the primary value of such tributes used to lie in the fact that his fellow citizens understood that his service deserved to be remembered forever by naming important institutions or places after him,” Riley explains. “Any presidential action can be easily reversed by the next president. So I would bet that Trump’s name won’t remain on the Kennedy Center for long after January 2029 [when the next occupant of the White House moves in].”
And let us not forget... "The Gulf of America"!
Many in Washington are wondering which monument will be next on the list, or which respected predecessor Trump is considering associating his name with: Lincoln? Jefferson? Washington? As the United States heads towards the celebration of the 250th anniversary of its founding, which Trump is hoping to underscore with the construction of a triumphal arch near the memorials of those three presidents, it doesn’t seem wise to rule out any possibility.

Thou Shall Not Criticize RFK Jr.

They broke Kennedy's commandment... Thou shall not criticize the appointed one! So he cut the grants to AAP because they contradicted him! Funding for:

The Department of Health and Human Services has terminated seven grants totaling millions of dollars to the American Academy of Pediatrics, escalating its confrontation with the group, which is suing Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. over vaccine policy.

The grants supported initiatives aimed at reducing sudden infant deaths, improving teen and young adult health, preventing birth defects, such as fetal alcohol syndrome, and identifying autism early, according to an academy spokesperson.
You know this guy lives in his own little "Neverland" world!
In an emailed statement, Andrew Nixon, an HHS spokesperson, said the grants “were canceled along with a number of other grants to other organizations because they no longer align with the Department’s mission or priorities.”

When NBC News asked about the agency’s priorities, Nixon responded by sending links to “about” pages on websites of HHS, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Health Resources and Services Administration.

Mark Del Monte, the academy’s CEO and executive vice president, said the group learned this week that the grants had been terminated and was now exploring “all available options, including legal recourse.”

“The Academy is proud of this work, and of the staff, pediatricians, and partners who were engaged in these important programs,” he said in a statement. “The sudden withdrawal of these funds will directly impact and potentially harm infants, children, youth, and their families in communities across the United States.”

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has cancelled millions of dollars in grants to the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) without warning, a decision that could have significant implications for pediatric healthcare delivery nationwide.

On December 17, 2025, HHS under Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. terminated seven grants supporting critical pediatric programs, citing a misalignment with "the Department's mission or priorities," according to an HHS spokesperson. 

The Guardian has reported that the HHS pointed to "identity-based language" as part of the issues the organization found with the AAP, including references to racial disparities and using the gender-neutral term "pregnant people." 
HOW DARE THEY USE  "Pregnant People."!!!!

We're cutting millions from them because they used  "pregnant people." and pro-trans healthcare! For that we make everyone in the U.S. suffer!

Reuters reported that,
"These grants, previously awarded to the American Academy of Pediatrics, were canceled along with a number of other grants to other organizations because they no longer align with the Department's mission or priorities," an HHS spokesperson said.
It’s clear: these programs are no longer "in alignment" with the administration's pogrom against us. Trump has issued a decree that there are only two genders, and his minions are kowtowing and lick his boots while we get the shaft.

But it wasn't just us that pissed off RFK Jr. but also about Kennedy’s personal grievances;
The AAP has received $18.4 million in federal funding from HHS in 2025, according to government records. The newly canceled grants had been communicated to the organization earlier this week, according to Del Monte.

The AAP broke with federal policy in August when it recommended that all young children get vaccinated against COVID-19, diverging from the CDC. It condemned Kennedy when he fired the CDC's independent panel of vaccine experts in June.

In October, it said it does not recommend the routine use of leucovorin - a form of vitamin B9 - in children with autism, citing a lack of evidence on the treatment's benefits and risks to support widespread use in this population. Kennedy touted the decades-old drug in September at a White House event.

Remember way back in July when Republicans advanced an amendment to rename the "John F. Kennedy Opera House" to the "First Lady Melania Trump Opera House?"

Yeah, so that never happened.

However, on Thursday, we got news that it would be renamed to the "Trump-Kennedy Center."
Maria Shriver wrote;
"The Kennedy Center was named after my uncle, President John F Kennedy. It was named in his honor. He was a man who was interested in the arts, interested in culture, interested in education, language, history. He brought the arts into the White House, and he and my Aunt Jackie amplified the arts, celebrated the arts, stood up for the arts and artists."

"It is beyond comprehension that this sitting president has sought to rename this great memorial dedicated to President Kennedy. It is beyond wild that he would think adding his name in front of President Kennedy’s name is acceptable. It is not."

Then we have the commemorative "Trump Dollar"!


Sens. Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.) and Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) introduced legislation Tuesday to prevent President Trump or any sitting or living former president from being featured on U.S. currency, a bill that would thwart the U.S. Treasury’s plan to issue a commemorative $1 coin with Trump’s image on it.

The bill, titled the Change Corruption Act, is cosponsored by Democratic Sens. Ron Wyden (Ore.) and Richard Blumenthal (Conn.) and states: “No United States currency may feature the likeness of a living or sitting president."

The bill’s authors note the historical precedent of the United States not featuring a living or sitting president on a circulating coin.

The U.S. Mint may announce a decision as soon as this week on issuing a Trump coin to coincide with the nation’s 250th birthday.

“President Trump’s self-celebrating maneuvers are authoritarian actions worthy of dictators like North Korea’s Kim Jong Un, not the United States of America,” Merkely said in a statement.

On Thursday, the board of the John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts voted to rename the center “the Donald J. Trump and the John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts.” Weirdly, the board of the center, mostly picked by President Donald Trump, does not seem to understand that a “memorial” center is named for someone who is deceased, and thus the new name implies that Trump is dead. By Friday, Trump’s name was physically added to the building at the behest of his handpicked board. Don’t be fooled by the absurdity of Trump’s vanity and the obsequiousness of these government officials: This is not an at all an innocuous move.

American political culture has long rejected the idea that sitting officer holders, or even living persons, should be honored with buildings or institutions named for them, or have their names and faces on currency, coins, or postage stamps. This sort of behavior is alien to a republic and a democracy. It is common, however, in dictatorships. Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini, and Francisco Franco had heir faces on stamps, currency, and coins during their respective despotic reigns. Josef Stalin appeared on numerous stamps while he was the dictator of the Soviet Union and renamed a major city Stalingrad, after himself. Kim Jong-un sometimes appears on North Korean stamps.

Which brings us to the Kennedy Center. The idea of a national cultural center had bounced around American politics for three decades before President John F. Kennedy pushed for legislation to create it, using both public and private money. The center opened in 1971, nearly eight years after JFK was assassinated. It was formally named the John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts. Richard Nixon, a Republican, was president when it opened. In fact, Kennedy had beaten Nixon in the 1960 presidential election, but Nixon did not try to change the name. He did attend a performance there in the Eisenhower Theater, which also opened in 1971. Bipartisanship and honoring deceased leaders were etched into the building, literally.

Now Trump has physically etched a different, more sinister tradition into its walls.

My two front teeth is all I want for Christmas!
But seriously, as you get older “Wants” don’t matter any more, but being with family does.

Well it depends on whose list we are talking about!
On Santa’s list I am nice…
On the government list I’m a terrorist (I'm not kidding, so if anyone wants a little extra cash this holiday season, turn me in and we can split the reward!).

On Christmas Day I will be with friends and the weekend I will be with family.

4. Did you ship any gifts to friends and family this year? If yes, which one traveled the farthest?
The adults do not exchange gifts, we have a Yankee Swap.

5. Did you buy yourself a gift this year?
I cut way back on what I’m buy this year… everything is so expensive!

Nope.

8. What's your favorite winter beverage?
Hot chocolate milk with the above cookies.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow… I got snowed in for Christmas. They are no longer are massive storms but just enough for us seniors to panic.

They Are Not Woke Enough!

They have refused to hire trans people or lesbians or gay... but it seems like one franchise has turned a little left,
Chick-fil-A has rejected "biblical truth" by embracing "identities rooted in same-sex behavior," one conservative leader complained.

Conservative Christians – including the anti-LGBTQ+ hate group Family Research Council (FRC) – are outraged that Chick-fil-A isn’t as homophobic as they would like the fast food chain to be.

At issue is a Facebook post from an Orem, Utah, franchisee celebrating two young men who got married.

“CONGRATULATIONS TO THE HAPPY COUPLE!” the December 3 post reads. “Dougie & Toby recently got married and we are so beyond happy for them!”

The restaurant has limited comments on the post, and most of them at the moment are supportive of the couple.
And the company did it do with the franchise? Did they strip them of their franchise?
“Chick-fil-A embraces all people, regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or gender identity,” the company’s corporate office said in a statement it’s been sending out to people who complained about the Facebook post, according to FRC. The statement also says that the company is “embedding Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) in everything we do.”

“When Chick-fil-A says it ‘embraces everyone,’ that’s faithful to Scripture,” David Closson, director of FRC’s Center for Biblical Worldview, said. “But to embrace contested identities — such as transgender identities or identities rooted in same-sex behavior — as morally legitimate expressions is something altogether different. A company grounded in Christian conviction should be able to love and serve every person without endorsing categories that contradict biblical truth.”
The other "Christian" company Hobby Lobby stands-by their discrimination Chick-fil-A still is anti-LGBTQ+
But the fast food chain has cleaned up its image in the last several years as it tries to expand internationally, and has even been accused by major Republicans of being too woke. Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R) said that Chick-fil-A surrendered to “anti-Christian hate groups” last year, and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said the chain “badly lost its way” for having a DEI initiative at all.
They are not far enough for the bigots.

Don't Despair!

I just want to remind you all... the House bill is not expected to pass in the Senate and the HHS policy will need to have a 30day comment period! I also believe that if and when the new HHS policy is passed it will be blocked by the courts. The HHS policy is based on garbage sceince!

I Remember Mama!

On this day in 2002, my mother passed away.

I remember a comment she made at Thanksgiving. I didn’t think much of it at the time, but a few weeks later she passed away from a UTI that became septic.

All of her great-grandchildren were at our house that day. It was my brother and me, all of the grandchildren, and all of the great-grandchildren. I was sitting next to my mother, watching the great-grandchildren play on the floor while the grandchildren were getting dinner ready.

I was sitting there with my brother and his wife when my mother said, “My life is complete.”

Three weeks later, she passed away. I believe she had let go. She was happy to see all of us together as a family, and she felt satisfied with her life. It felt as though, for her, it was time to go.

Nicholas Mitchell took a deep breath and reached for the door handle. He never knew what to expect inside. Sometimes, the staffers for US House representatives were friendly; sometimes, he’d heard, they tore up their copies of the informational sheets Mitchell carried on a clipboard.

This time, they were receptive. A policy aide for a Democratic representative said he had five minutes to talk, and Mitchell didn’t waste any time as they settled into a conference room.

“We’re here to discuss two bills coming up, HR 498 and HR 3492,” Mitchell said.

The two bills, introduced this week for a planned vote on Wednesday, both targeted gender-affirming healthcare for children – the first time Congress has voted over national care bans and a major escalation of anti-trans rhetoric from conservative US lawmakers.

The bill to criminalize parents and providers for providing gender-affirming care to children under the age of 18 passed the House on Wednesday night.

It’s the most significant attempt by federal lawmakers to restrict the healthcare for children in the US.

The bill, introduced by Marjorie Taylor Greene as one of her last acts as a legislator before retiring from the House next month, would make gender-affirming care a federal felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

The bill passed by 216-211, with three Democrats voting for the bill.

The American Civil Liberties Union says it is the most extreme anti-trans legislation ever considered by Congress: It would put doctors in jail for up to 10 years if they provide gender-affirming care to minors, including prescribing hormone replacement therapy to adolescents or puberty blockers to young kids. The bill also aims to halt gender-affirming surgeries on minors, which is rare. 

“This would make it a Class C felony to trans a child under 18,” Greene, a Georgia Republican, said on X. In that post, she describes her bill as “one of President Trump’s key campaign promises” — gutting gender-affirming care — a presidential shout-out despite the litany of public grievances that led to their estrangement. 

The far-reaching legislation is leaving medical professionals fearful, even though it’s not expected to become law. A vote on the House floor, where the bill needs a simple majority to pass, is scheduled for Wednesday. The measure will then go to the Senate, where it is unlikely to advance, since at least seven Democrats would need to sign on. 
But that is not all, from the Trump adminstration comes Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum... (My emphasis)

The Trump administration is expected to announce several moves Thursday that will have the effect of essentially banning gender-affirming care for transgender young people, even in states where it is still legal.

Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will be announcing the measures in a press conference at 11 a.m. at the headquarters of the Department of Health and Human Services. Dr. Mehmet Oz, who leads the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, Dr. Marty Makary, who leads the Food and Drug Administration, and Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, who leads the National Institutes of Health, will all be at the press conference.

In October, NPR exclusively reported on two new proposed rules for hospitals that Oz is expected to announce Thursday. The first would prohibit doctors and hospitals from receiving federal Medicaid reimbursement for medical care provided to transgender patients younger than age 18. The second would block all Medicaid and Medicare funding for any services at hospitals that provide pediatric gender-affirming care. Medicaid provides health care coverage to low-income children and adults in the U.S. Medicare is the health program for Americans over 65 and disabled people. Virtually every hospital in the country takes Medicare and relies on it, so the rule would have a wide-ranging effect.
You know I don't have to tell you how bad this is. This means even counseling!

And you know damn well that this is going to Trump's Supreme Court!

You know the Democrats used Medicare to force hospitals to recognize same-sex couples... so to expand inclusion while the Trump adminstration is using it to force exclusions.

He blamed everyone but himself! You know that President Truman said, "The Buck Stops Here!" Trump, "the buck stops over their, not here, never here..."

For Trump credit flows up, blame flows down, if something goes well: “I did it.” and if it goes badly: staff, the courts, the deep state, the media, Democrats, RINOs, Biden, Obama, globalists — pick one.

For Trump he always makes the attacks on policy failures, personal “They’re attacking me” and
“They’re afraid of me” He never says “I was wrong” or “my decision caused this.”

Eleven months in and he is still blaming President Biden, funny how when Biden was just months in office Trump was blaming Biden but now eleven months in to his adminstration he still is blaming Biden.

But it is not working! People are seeing through his rhetoric! His supporters raved while everyone else,
Gavin Newsom mocked it as "Me Me Me"; late-night hosts called it a "liar-side chat." The MAGA people are like "yeah, he is an a**hole but he is our a**hole! The Wrap reported...

Shortly after the president gave a near 15-minute speech — where he took shots at his predecessor, Joe Biden, and boasted about his administration’s accomplishments — Trump’s rivals took to social media and television to sound off on his Wednesday update.

For instance, Calif. Governor Newsom took to X and bemoaned that Trump’s address “could have been an email.”

Sen. Kelly (D-Ariz.) also slammed Trump’s speech, yet he issued his criticism during an appearance on MS Now’s “The Briefing” on Wednesday evening.

“Initially, I’m like, he’s just making stuff up,” he told host Jen Psaki. “He just says a bunch of stuff. And he says this stuff is going to happen — there’s no policy there. And I’m kind of wondering why he’s so angry and desperate and defensive.”

He continued: “Somebody must have showed him some like abysmal poll numbers and said, you better get out there in front of the American people and explain to them why these poll numbers shouldn’t be in the in the toilet.”
Late night shows had a field day!


It's safe to say Jimmy Kimmel wasn't eagerly anticipating President Donald Trump's primetime address.

In his latest "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" monologue, the comedian mocked Trump for delivering a speech from the White House earlier that evening, which interrupted several shows, including "Survivor" and "The Floor."

"It's weird to think that had a couple of states just gone the other way, he'd be hosting one of those shows," he said. "Trump shouldn't be pre-empting 'The Floor.' He should be mopping it."

Because his show is taped earlier in the day, Kimmel didn't get into the content of Trump's speech, but he dubbed the address a "surprise, primetime episode of 'The Worst Wing'" and a "liar-side chat."
So tonight's show should be interesting!

In August, Shannon “SJ” Joslin, a wildlife biologist and ranger at Yosemite National Park, lost their job after helping unfurl a massive transgender pride flag on the sheer granite face of El Capitan. In Yosemite, displaying flags on El Cap is a time-honored tradition dating back decades—used to mark moments of patriotism, protest, or grief. Joslin, who is nonbinary and uses they/them pronouns, is the first person to get fired from the park for the act. Joslin told Outside what it was like to lose their dream job.

It had been more than a week since we’d hung the flag, and I’d heard nothing but positive feedback. Then I got the email. It was from a chief ranger from a different national park who was in charge of investigating my actions.

I thought it was strange. I hadn’t done anything wrong. I’d hung it on my day off, with some of my climbing friends. We’d gotten the proper permit to spend the night on the wall. We’d used cams and nuts and carabiners, the same stuff big-wall climbers use, to rig the flag. And we left no trace. We took everything back down with us.

They called me into the Fort, which is where the jail is in Yosemite. And that’s presumably where all of their interrogations happen. They read me my rights. I asked if I was the subject of the criminal investigation. They said yes.

It was surreal. There’s a long history of visitors and employees hanging flags on El Cap. The employees who were associated with putting up any of the other flags didn’t get punished.
But it made national news and it was "TRANS" so therefore...
A couple months later I got the request for an in-person meeting with the acting deputy superintendent. I knew then that something serious was going to happen because deputy superintendents don’t waste their time with low-level employees like me.

I was petrified. I don’t know how much you know about park rangers, but our whole lives are our jobs. Yosemite is my home and it’s my whole identity. I’m a biologist, so I’m primarily there to support the wildlife, but I do so much more.

My meeting was August 12. Yosemite’s acting deputy superintendent Danika Globokar handed me a termination letter for “failure to demonstrate acceptable conduct.” The investigation found that I had violated a National Park Service rule that prohibits demonstrations outside of designated park areas for First Amendment activities.
The axe fell. Why? Because of bigoty! She is pursuing legal action. 

You see they call hanging the Trans flag a "demonstration" even though it was just a flag. The park service issued this statement.
The National Park Service is pursuing administrative action against multiple National Park Service employees for failing to follow National Park Service regulations.

We do not comment on the specifics of personnel actions. However, we want to emphasize that we take the protection of the park’s resources and the experience of our visitors very seriously and will not tolerate violations of laws and regulations that impact those resources and experiences.

Earlier in 2025, several unauthorized demonstrations involving El Capitan generated numerous complaints from visitors. Yosemite National Park was designated by Congress to highlight the beautiful natural and cultural features of the area. No matter the cause, displaying signs, banners, and flags outside of designated First-Amendment areas detracts from the visitor experience and the protection of the park. To safeguard the protection of visitors, visitor experiences, and park resources, most demonstrations require a permit. 
She is pursuing legal action.

Why's Everybody Always Pickin' On Me?

I watched NOVA, not Trump. As one person who commented on my Facebook post put it: "You watched science instead of science fiction."

So, what did all that jaw-flapping actually say?


President Donald Trump promised to lower prices for Americans who have been battered by inflation since the pandemic and blamed many of the nation's ills on his predecessor in an address from the White House as he tries to combat mounting frustration heading into a midterm election year.
Yada yada yada... yeah, we’ve heard it all before: "It's not my fault!"
"Over the past 11 months, we have brought more positive change to Washington than any administration in American history. There's never been anything like it," Trump said.
Hey, don’t you think we have eyes and ears? We know what's happening! Your administration is a f**ked-up mess. You have "Yes people" and crusaders who think they are on a "mission from God!"
His address comes as Americans have soured on the president and his handling of many of the key issues that drive voting decisions. He is underwater in approval on his handling of the economy and immigration — his signature issues — in a sign of trouble for Republicans in next year’s midterms. Democrats are hoping to capitalize on those frustrations to flip the House and Senate and appear to be heading into the year with favorable political dynamics with an unpopular president in office and mounting frustrations about the economy.
Oh really?

Surrounded by Christmas trees and garlands before a fireplace, Donald Trump on Wednesday gave a convincing rendition of Ebenezer Scrooge, the elderly miser who despises Christmas and blames everyone but himself.

The US president sounded like a desperate man, pointing an accusing finger at Joe Biden and spreading the opposite of charity and cheer on issues such as immigration. So much for ’tis the season to be jolly.

Like Biden, Trump has abandoned the traditional end-of-year presidential press conference. He preferred to give a much-hyped 20-minute speech. If he had been sitting in the Oval Office, he might have got sleepy; instead he stood in the diplomatic room and ranted with monotone anger.

He went on to place blame at the feet of Biden, previous trade deals, immigrants and what he described as a corrupt system. As at his campaign rallies, Trump painted a lurid picture of Biden forcing “transgender for everybody” and throwing open the border to criminals from insane asylums. He claimed to have “broken the grip of sinister woke radicals in our schools”.

The president has repeatedly referred to “affordability” as a Democratic hoax. On Wednesday he conceded that prices remain high while arguing that the nation was “poised” for an economic boom. “I am bringing those high prices down and bringing them down very fast,” he said. By way of example, he claimed a sharp drop in gasoline prices, even though a White House graphic displayed by Fox News as he spoke showed only a slight decline in the national average.

Trump also announced that he would send a “warrior dividend” of $1,776 to 1.45 million US service members in the coming week. He said it had been made possible by revenue from tariffs, failing to mention those same tariffs have driven prices up.

The president made a wide variety of claims Wednesday night. Some were true, some were misleading, and others were false.

President Donald Trump on Wednesday evening offered a rapid-fire series of claims about the economic, military and societal impact of the first year of his second administration — some accurate or close to reality, while others appeared to be either misleading or wrong.

Trump said: “Wages are going up much faster than inflation.”
Wages are outpacing inflation, but “much” is up for some debate as the pace of wage growth has slowed significantly this year. In January, average wages were increasing at a pace of 4.1%. As of Tuesday, when the Bureau of Labor Statistics released the October and November jobs report, the pace had fallen to 3.5%. Inflation is currently at 3.0% and has risen every month since April.

It is also worth noting that while the Biden administration endured far higher rates of inflation, wages broadly kept pace with rising prices even for lower-paid workers.

Trump said: Under former President Joe Biden, “our border was open, and because of this, our country was being invaded by an army of 25 million people, many who came from prisons and jails, mental institutions and insane asylums.”

This claim is false. In reality, 7.4 million undocumented immigrants crossed the border outside of legal checkpoints during the Biden administration, according to data from Customs and Border Protection.

Counting people who crossed the border at legal points of entry but without documentation, it’s still only 10.2 million.

That assertion is false. The price of eggs isdown 43.9% since March, according to government Consumer Price Index data. Prices for some items in the BLS’ inflation report may be falling, but prices broadly continue to increase.

The BLS has not released price data covering the last two months because of the government shutdown. November’s inflation data will be released Thursday morning.
