Court Awards Full Custody to James Younger’s Mother but Requires Permission for Puberty Blockers, Gender Surgeries

A Texas judge has granted full custody of eight-year-old James Younger to his mother, who has fought publicly to transition her son into a girl against the father’s wishes.

Judge Mary Brown granted full custody to Anne Georgulas in an order on Tuesday, awarding the mother exclusive control over James’s primary residence, counseling, medications, education and extracurricular activities. It allows Georgulas to withhold information from Jeff Younger, James’s father, “regarding the children’s extracurricular activities, school functions, school enrollment, counseling, and medical care.”

However, while Georgulas has the exclusive right to consent to James’s medical procedures, the order notes that that power does not extend to hormone-suppression therapy, puberty blockers, or transgender reassignment surgery.

The ongoing legal battle over the gender of little James Younger continues. A Texas court has now given Younger's mother temporary full custody of the boy and his brother Jude in what has become a highly publicized case over the last two years.

As CBN News has extensively reported, little James is in the middle of a legal battle between his parents, Jeff Younger and Anne Georgulas in Texas. The case made national headlines in 2019 after it was revealed the boy's mother intended to publicly gender-transition him into a girl against the father's wishes. She reportedly calls him "Luna" instead of his given name.

Luna Younger, an eight-year-old from Texas, has been at the centre of a lengthy, bitter custody dispute between her mother, ​​Anne Georgulas, who affirms her gender identity, and her father, Jeffrey Younger. He claims Georgulas is forcing Luna’s identity on her, which she has strenuously denied.

The legal battle has received huge public attention, including from Donald Trump Jr and Ted Cruz, who in 2019 both accused Georgulas of “child abuse”.

However, the court has put a caveat on Georgulas’ custodial rights to consent to gender-affirming care or treatment for Luna. In its ruling, the court ruled “neither parent may treat a child with hormone [suppression] therapy, puberty blockers” or gender-affirming surgery “without the consent of the parents or court order”.

Hopefully the judge will not block the puberty blockers and she will see the necessary of her not to got through puberty.

After years of legal battles amidst a media frenzy, a Texas court has granted nearly all custodial and parental rights of a trans girl to her mother, under the condition that her father has regular supervised visits, and the mother does not consent to any gender-affirming hormone or surgical treatment while the child is in her care.

Luna Younger, now eight years old, became the center of a right-wing media blitz on trans youth and gender affirming healthcare over the last two years when her father, Jeffrey Younger, claimed that her identity was being forced on her by her mother, Dr. Anne Georgulas.

Luna’s story has been used over the years to promote such a theory in conservative media, and conservative to alt-right media such as the Texan, the National Review, and the Federalist continue to deadname and misgender Luna. They have concluded that she is identifying as trans “against her father’s wishes,” even after the ruling.

Let’s hope that the haters don’t get there way and Luna can get her puberty blockers.
