Crazy Sam’s Saturday 9: My Funny Valentine (1991)
On Saturdays I take a break from the heavy stuff and have some fun…
Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.
1) In this song, Ms. Kitt sings that her lover is her favorite work of art. Tell us about a piece of artwork you can see from where you're sitting now. (Yes, that crayon drawing created by your 5-year-old nephew counts.)
Um… none. Unless the picture of my parents that I took counts.
2) She asks him to not change his hair. When will you next find yourself in the stylist's chair?
Ha! You got to have hair to go to a stylist.
3) Ms. Kitt always wanted to be a performer and attended the New York School of Performing Arts (aka the "Fame" school). Think back to your high school self. In what ways would you be surprised by how your life turned out?
Well in high school I wanted to be an engineer and I did.
Back then I was so deep in the closet that I nevered dreamed that I would be so out.
4) Ms. Kitt took over the role of Catwoman on TV's Batman. Name another Batman villain.
My old boss… JK
The Joker
5) Ms. Kitt enjoyed tremendous success performing in Parisian nightclubs. Have you ever been to Paris?
Nope, I would like to sometime but I rather “See the USA in my Chevrolet.”
This is the last Saturday 9 before Valentine's Day and so this morning we shall focus on the upcoming holiday.
6) The holiday is also known as The Feast of St. Valentine. Do you have a special meal planned for next Wednesday?
Nope.
7) The phrase "wear your heart on your sleeve" began in medieval times. On Valentine's Day, men would celebrate the holiday by displaying their lady love's name on their sleeves. If you were going to adopt this custom, whose name would you wear?
Well if you were Trump you would wear your own name on your sleeve.
8) Women buy and send more Valentines than men do. What's the last greeting card you received?
A Christmas card
9) Men buy and send more roses at Valentine's Day than women do. What's your favorite flower?
Lilacs
I’m late today.
As many of you know I am looking for a cottage on the Cape (if you are from around here you would know there is only one “Cape” and that is Cape Cod); well on Friday there was a nice year round condo (3 BD and 2 BA) that went on the market on Friday the 2nd and I emailed my agent Saturday… no reply. I emailed her Monday… no reply. I used a different email account and the message got through, she never received the other emails. So we set up a viewing for yesterday, well late Thursday night I get an email from her saying it is under contract.
Well I guess it hit me harder than I expected… I have been down in the dumps yesterday and today (the classic symptoms… eating junk food, not feeling like doing anything, and sleeping), and that is why I am late with the post.

Now I've got the Chevy song stuck in my head! :D
ReplyDeleteI hope you'll have good news about the Cape soon!
I love that vintage commercial! And yes, the family photo you took counts.
ReplyDeleteI echo Kwiz. I hope you'll get good news about a Cape cottage, and soon.
