We Won!

Not quite, the gays were celebrating their victory when the Boy Scouts allowed gay scouts and scout leaders. Many called for the end to the boycott because they won, but it wasn’t a total victory because trans scouts were not included. There is a petition drive to change that,
Allow Transgender Boys in the Boy Scouts Now!
Care2 Petition
By: Peter Tomaszewski

Recently, the Boy Scouts of America made a landmark decision in allowing gay and lesbian Scout leaders in their program. While this is a major step, the civil rights battle in the BSA isn't over yet.

Transgender boys are not currently allowed to be members of the Boy Scouts, and their acceptance is only sometimes considered based on a troop's individual membership policy. This means that if a troop doesn't want a transgender boy, they are under no obligation to accept his application.
So instead of declaring victory, sign the petition to end the discrimination!

Right now I am in Manchester doing training with CT Coalition to End Homelessness, CT Fair Housing Center, AIDS Connecticut, and HUD for homeless shelter staff and 211 operators. This is the fifth in a series of training that we are doing around the state.
