Protests In The Streets

[Editorial]

Students are out in streets protesting the Israeli Hamas War demanding an end to war!

I remember when I was a teenager the protests over the Vietnam War and now they are out there again protesting wars, but…

You know they say the way to cook a frog is to bring up the water temperature and the frogs will never know it until it was too late.

Well there is a war on that nobody is doing anything about because it is slowly bleeding us to death.

Ukraine war: 10,000 civilians
Israeli Hamas War: 14,532 civilians
United States: 35,000 civilians

Like cooking frogs, gun violence is slowly killing us. It is slowly killing us a nation. It is killing our nation because the “guns haves” and the “guns have nots” are getting father apart. We talk about the Republicans’ anti-trans laws, we talk about the anti-abortion laws, we talk about banning books. However there are thing the Republicans don’t want laws against.

The Republicans don’t want:

Laws banning assault weapons.
Laws banning ghost guns.
Laws banning “Red Flag” violence.
Laws banning open carry.
Laws requiring gun permits.
Laws requiring background checks.

Mass killing are happening at a rate of about one a day! We have become numb to the daily report on the latest killings, like the frogs in the pot we don’t notice the murders anymore.

People don’t feel safe going to places of worship, malls, bowling alleys, schools, colleges, theaters, factories, offices, bars, and libraries!

When are we going to have protests for protections from guns?

We have to join with those working toward abortion rights, those working to ending the rash of anti-LGBTQ laws, we have to organize the “Get-out-to-vote” to end all this madness with the voting box

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain…

Let us all work toward domestic tranquility.

I agree! I believe in regular guns for self protection, and even normal hunting guns. But not assault weapons.
