Mini-Post: Money Talks

Money talks more than the First Amendment.

Do you you wonder why 60 Minutes caved in and gave Trump $16 million? They gave in and gave Trump $16 million! Why? 60 Minutes was know for it hard news but they were a wimp with Trump... why? National Amusements (The owner of CBS) has been in talks with Skydance Media since early 2024.

The move comes just days after Colbert criticized CBS parent company Paramount for a $16 million settlement with former President Donald Trump over a lawsuit alleging “election interference” tied to a 2024 60 Minutes segment on Kamala Harris, News.Az reports, citing foreign media.

"If Paramount and CBS ended the Late Show for political reasons, the public deserves to know. And deserves better."

Warren echoed the sentiment:
"CBS canceled Colbert’s show just THREE DAYS after he called out Paramount for its $16M settlement with Trump. America deserves to know if his show was canceled for political reasons."

Did they cave because they had to get the merger though Federal Communications Commission (FCC): The Federal Communication Commission (FCC), Federal Trade Commission (FTC), Department of Justice (DOJ), and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and they were worried about Trump's revenge? These corporate giants are concerned only for one thing... the bottom line. Not the "freedom of the press" not the First Amendment... only the bottom line! Now you know the real reason... $$$$
