Last week while researching for a blog post, a link lead me to a CDC on a trans topic... the page was removed. The past was rewritten.
How many times has Trump said something and then at the next speech he says the exact opposite!
Remember, "alternative facts"?
Do you also remember Jan6 riots* and how Trump labeled them? As a peaceful protest, or even blaming it on outside actors like Antifa and rewrite history that we all saw in real time. Gaslighting the whole country, what you saw wasn't what you saw. Right out of the Ministry of Truth's handbook.
Trump's attacking the freedom of the press and we found out that freedom of press has it limits to the bottom line. It is better to payoff Trump than to fight in court. We is he going after the Smithsonian Institute? He who controls the past... controls the future! Just think what he can purge out of it!
Back in the 1930 the Nazis in Berlin, burned the books in Dr. Magnus Hirschfeld's Institute for Sexual Science, have we gotten more sophisticated, instead of burning books we ban them?

Just look at what books they want banned and you can see the racism and transphobia behind them.
- LGBTQ+ authors and themes
- Books about racism, slavery, and systemic inequality
- Authors of color, especially those writing about real historical trauma
They want to eradicate all things trans! They want to rewrite history to deny the Jim Crow laws.
And look at the colleges and universities that they are attacking? Harvard. And for what? For allowing antisemitism protests which are guaranteed by the First Amendment!
Why do they want to break up the Department of Education?
Pre-DoE: Segregation, unequal financing for Black schools districts, only history they covered was White history, and religion was taught in classrooms.
After DoE: All of that ended. Brown v. Board of Education became the rule, not the exception.
Doing away with the Department of Education will bring back "states rights" to discriminate. There is a bill in Congress to distribute education funding as voucher which increases segregation and discrimination!

The Republicans know two things... educated people think for themselves! Second integrated schools make harder to hate the "others" when you sit side by side. Education is being re-weaponized to divide us.

We have seen our history being dismissed as being irrelevant, just a minority of minorities. How many times have you seen us not represented on timelines in history? How many times have to seen trans people or events written out of history! At a Pride event here in Connecticut there was a tent with the heroes of Stonewall... they were all gay or lesbians! I asked about Marsha Johnson, Sylvia Rivera and they didn't know about them!!!!
We cannot allow us to be written out of history!

*The way I use "Riot" and "Uprising"
- A riot is to destroy things
- An uprising is to lift off the shackle of oppression.
