Mini-Post: There Is No Doubt!

Positively there is no doubt at all!

Disliking someone because they speak a foreign language instead of English is xenophobic, by definition.

Country music singer Lee Greenwood is ready to take on the honor of performing at Super Bowl LX.

After the NFL announced last month that Bad Bunny will headline next year’s Super Bowl halftime show, many in President Donald Trump’s base slammed the decision, with some pointing to his outspoken criticism of the president and his policies. The outrage had made its way to Trump — who called the move “absolutely ridiculous.”

“I never heard of him,” Trump said on Newsmax’s “Greg Kelly Reports” earlier this week. “I don’t know who he is, I don’t know why they’re doing it, it’s crazy, and then they blame it on some promoter that they hired to pick up entertainment.”

House Speaker Mike Johnson also took aim at Bad Bunny, one of the most widely streamed artists in the world, and suggested that the Puerto Rican superstar should be replaced with Greenwood.
How xenophobic is that!

Then we have this White organization...

Turning Point USA is throwing its own Super Bowl halftime show. The conservative political action organization, founded by the late Charlie Kirk, announced Thursday that it plans to host its own performance as counterprogramming to the NFL’s official show on Feb. 8, during which Puerto Rican music icon Bad Bunny is scheduled to perform.

Turning Point USA’s website for the event, dubbed the  “All-American Halftime Show,” states that it will celebrate “faith, family and freedom.” While no other details were provided outside of the date, a survey on the site asks respondents which music genres they would like featured, offering options including pop, hip-hop, country, classic rock, Americana, worship, and “anything in English.” A post on X, confirming the group’s plans, says, “Performers and event details coming soon.”

Bad Bunny is enormously popular across the globe, but also in the United States, with his last four albums hitting no. 1 on the Billboard all-genre 200. He will be the first Latin American male solo artist to headline the halftime show.
Naw, they are not racists... yeah right!

HuffPost writes...
And Johnson’s recent dig about Bad Bunny not having a “broader audience” is perplexing; the “DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS” artist is a history-making, three-time Grammy winner. He was named Spotify’s most-streamed artist globally for three consecutive years.

Rep. Delia C. Ramirez (D-Ill.) joined others on X, formerly Twitter, to charge that Johnson’s “broader audience” quip had lot to do with the fact that Bad Bunny’s songs are performed primarily in Spanish, and less to do with his success as a global star.
Bingo!
Sarma said that they believe Johnson’s remark, which suggests that Bad Bunny isn’t mainstream, refers to “only to white, Fox news watching, MAGA Christians.”

[...]

“The language is not even coded anymore,” they later added. “The only audience for MAGA spokespeople such as Johnson are members of the MAGA cult.”

Sarma said that MAGA rhetoric — like the notion that Bad Bunny doesn’t have a “broader audience” — is “harmful.”

“And more frighteningly, it’s intended to hurt and to incite,” they said.

[...]

“One consequence of white superiority is its senseless disregard for other cultures,” he added.
