Transgender women should be allowed to remain Freemasons if they joined as men, the largest UK lodge has said.

Expelling masons for transitioning was "unlawful discrimination", the United Grand Lodge of England (UGLE) warned.

Women who transition to become men should also be allowed to join, its new gender reassignment policy states.

The guidance document says that a Freemason's gender reassignment should be "treated with the utmost compassion and sensitivity".

Irrespective of gender identity, the UGLE's 200,000 members will still formally be referred to as "brothers", the document says.

But informally they should be addressed "by the name and title he/she has chosen".
Wow, isn’t magnanimous of them.

The LoveLoud concert in Salt Lake City, Utah, is a fundraising event for LGBTQ charities like The Trevor Project and The Tegan and Sara Foundation. The annual event was started by Dan Reynolds, lead singer of pop-rock band Imagine Dragons.

So it’s disconcerting that transgender people were confronted and misgendered at bathrooms at the event this past Saturday.

“When I was confronted, saying I was in the wrong bathroom, it kind of threw me off,” she said, adding that while the man didn’t threaten her, she felt unsafe.

We were saddened to hear that a few of our LGBTQ+ community members faced discrimination at last night’s festival. We have a zero-tolerance policy toward any behavior that makes anyone feel unsafe or unwelcome. As an organization dedicated to creating safe and affirming events for our LGBTQ+ friends and families, our staff, volunteers, and charity partners were asked to participate in an LGBTQ+ cultural competency training. We are committed to learning from our mistakes and will continuously work to improve the lives of LGBTQ+ people in our community and beyond.
Wow, isn’t nice of them.

Too bad they said that after the incident and didn’t have that message before the concert and not after the hurt is done.
Transgender woman sues Starbucks for harassment, discrimination during Fresno tenure

A former Fresno Starbucks employee is suing the coffee chain claiming harassment and discrimination after she began the process to transition from male to female.

In the complaint filed in Fresno Superior Court, plaintiff Maddie Wade alleges Dustin Guthrie, her manager at the 6701 N. Milburn Ave. Starbucks in northwest Fresno, reduced her hours and discriminated against her after she disclosed her gender dysphoria disorder and her plans to start hormone therapy and have facial feminization surgery. She eventually was forced to resign because of the “intolerable conditions,” the complaint says.

Wade says in the complaint that her relationship with her coworkers remained positive, except with Guthrie. Her hours were cut, and Guthrie refused to use female pronouns with her, continuing to call her “Matt,” “brother” and “man.” At one point Wade confronted Guthrie about the treatment saying she felt punished, but Guthrie assured her that was not the case.
So what did Starbucks say?
“At Starbucks, we strive to create a culture of warmth and belonging, where everyone is welcome and have zero tolerance for the harassment of our partners or customers. We encourage all of our partners to alert their local leadership the moment they feel uncomfortable or unsafe at work. In those instances where partners don’t want to speak with their manager or choose to remain anonymous, we have processes in place that allow them to provide details over phone, email or fax.”
I am getting tired of businesses many of whom are listed on the HRC Corporate Guide as having a 100 percent rating discriminating against us by their employees. I am hearing more and more reports of trans people facing discrimination by employees of mega corporations, then to add pour salt in the wounds they give us a discount coupon when we complain about the treatment.

We don’t want your apologies, we don’t want your 20% off coupons, we just want to not be harassed by your employees.
