The Dayton Shooter Killed His Trans Brother

Original reports said that the gunman first killed his sister but there are reports that his sibling had transitioned.
Friends Say that Sibling Murdered by Dayton Shooter Was a Transgender Man

Accounts from friends and social media profiles belonging to a victim in last weekend’s shooting in Dayton, OH, whose name was previously reported as Megan Betts, indicate that Betts was a transgender man who went by Jordan Cofer and used he/him pronouns.

According to media reports, Cofer, 22, was the sibling of shooting suspect Connor Betts, and was the first victim in the mass shooting in Dayton’s Oregon district that left nine dead and 27 wounded. It appears that Cofer was out as a trans man to only a handful of people, and there is no indication at this time that his gender identity was a motivating factor in his death.
[…]
“Jordan was my closest friend,” said the friend over Twitter direct message. “He identified with he/him pronouns to people he trusted and knew would support him. Jordan was probably one of the sweetest people you would ever meet, a true saint, but he was also very scared constantly. He tried to give the best to everyone.”
[…]
The trans community also has a right to account for its dead. There’s been no indication thus far that Cofer’s murder was a transphobic hate crime, but it serves as an important reminder that trans people are more than the transphobia society visits upon them. Everyone who spoke with Splinter for this story felt it was important for his true identity to be accurately reported in the press, without sensationalistic or political sentiments.
It is too early to say if he was a target or he just was another person who was just trying to get on with their life.

Just another candidate using us a scapegoat…
District Three candidate uses slur in press release

District Three candidate Tom Norton, R-Ada, used a slur against transgender people in a press release about gun background check laws.

In a press release sent out on Tuesday, Aug. 6, Norton said that “red flag laws are (sic) dangerous step for Americans for all walks of life, but particularly for veterans, blacks and trannies.”

Norton went on to say that transgender and transitioning people are “reported to have a higher incidence of mental instability.”
[…]
However, an article in the December 2016 issue of the Journal of Psychological Nursing and Mental Health Services by Tamar C. Carmel and Laura Erickson-Schroth detailed those increases in mental health concerns are due to external factors.

The article stated current societal norms “stigmatizes and discriminates against lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people, subjecting them to chronic stress,” and that transgender and gender non-conforming individuals in particular experience more negative stress within society.
It is because of people like Mr. Norton that the suicide rate is so high with him spreading hate against us.

At the end of the commercial he added this disgusting hateful comment…
“When I get to Washington, I’m going to focus on cutting the pork — not the sausage.”

Alabama Mayor Calls for Killing LGBTQ People in Facebook Post
The Advocate

An Alabama mayor has posted comments on Facebook about killing LGBTQ people, then tried to deny the post was his, but finally admitted it.

Carbon Hill Mayor Mark Chambers posted a graphic that read, “We live in a society where homosexuals lecture us on morals, transvestites lecture us on human biology, baby killers lecture us on human rights and socialists lecture us on economics.” It has now been removed, but Birmingham TV station WBRC captured a screen shot.

A Facebook friend of his commented, “By giving the minority more rights than the majority. I hate to think of the country my grandkids will live in unless somehow we change and I think that will take a revolution.” Chambers responded to that comment by saying, “The only way to change it would be to kill the problem out. I know it’s bad to say but without killing them out there’s no way to fix it.”

WBRC called Chambers, who first claimed the post was on someone else’s page, then ended the conversation. Then he called back and said the comment was meant to be a private message to his friend. He also said, “I never said anything about killing out gays or anything like that.” Then the reporter read the post back to him, and he said, “That’s in a revolution. That’s right! If it comes to a revolution in this country both sides of these people will be killed out.”
You might remember that a Russian lesbian was murdered after she was put on a hit list like the mayor is calling.

People like Chambers and Tom Norton are the reason why the suicide rate is so high for LGBTQ+ people.
