Indion Entertainment is excited to announce that Sydney Freeland's debut feature Drunktown's Finest, following an acclaimed run on the festival circuit, is coming to theaters this season. Presented by executive producer Robert Redford, the film will open in New York City at the Quad Cinema on February 20, in Los Angeles at the Arena Cinema on February 27 and follow in select markets over the coming weeks.

Drunktown's Finest premiered at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival and has since GONE on to win a number of awards, including the Grand Jury Prize for Best Dramatic Narrative and HBO Best First Feature awards at Outfest 2014, as well as Best Film at the American Indian Film Festival in San Francisco.
According to IMDB the movie is about,
Three young Native Americans - an adopted Christian girl, a rebellious father-to-be, and a promiscuous transsexual - strive to escape the hardships of life on an Indian reservation.
And that is not the only trans connection,
...Filmmaker Magazine lauded transgender Navajo American writer/director Freeland for her "authentic voice".
And the actress who plays the trans woman is also trans and a Navajo, according to Indian Country,
Carmen Moore isn't your typical up-and-coming Native actress, nor is her role in Drunktown's Finest, which premieres at the Sundance Film Festival on Saturday, January 18, the sort of character we've seen before in Native film. Moore, a transgender woman with a career in the adult industry, plays Felixia, also transgender, who is trying to figure out her place in the world while harboring a professional ambition that seems out of reach. Moore spoke with Alex Jacobs about this unique part and unique film.
Here is a movie that is directed and stars trans women and has won many awards at film festivals, so don’t tell that there are no talented trans actresses/actors who can play trans roles in movies instead of cisgendered actresses/actors.
