Ouch!

I just got my oil tank filled today, the bill was $417 (134 gal. @ $3.099) and that was with a $0.03 discount! I already have my unused rooms closed off, the thermostat set for 65ºF during the day and 55ºF at night. The house is passive solar, 2X6 construction and the non-southern exposure windows are at a minimum.

It is going to be a long cold and expensive winter.

And yet, last week the House passed an energy bill that would have rescinded tax breaks that the oil companies get for almost 14 BILLION dollars. The Senate let it stall, so at a time of record profits, BigOil still gets the tax breaks, and we freeze to pay the bills.
